Ray Skibinski started his career after graduating from Parsons School of Design and the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He was an assistant to the art director at Seventeen Magazine and designed promotional material and catalogs for a New York lingerie company, catalogs and packaging for the Scribner Book store, and a monthly newsletter for Cover Girl Cosmetics which he also illustrated.
Ray has illustrated a wide variety of subjects including cook books, language text books, how-to home repair, crafts and hobbies, garden and landscaping, bible stories, furniture, scientific and medical subjects and children’s books. These illustrations have appeared in many prominent publications including Time/Life Books, Reader’s Digest Books Western Publishing, Viacom Corp. Rodale Press, magazines and newspapers.
Ray has been exhibiting his paintings and drawings since 1993 in galleries and state-wide juried exhibits winning best in show and awards of merit.
Ray has taught drawing and watercolor at the Edison Adult School, figure drawing at the Somerset Art Association, watercolor at the Oak Tree Group and monitors a figure drawing group at the Barron Art Center
